We are based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, however we will meet you regardless of where you are located.

J A Architecture has designed many projects in various building typologies and uses such as; planning, single family, multi-family, commercial, office, industrial, mixed-use, among others. We are able to provide a quality of design for an array of different projects, and we are excited to continue to grow our portfolio in various genres of practice. Our architects understand different types of assemblies and outcomes that might best apply to the project being considered for all clients.
Environment & the new national energy code in alberta
The new National Energy Code in effect in Alberta (NECB 2017) is a good indicator that environment is a focus in the design and construction industry moving forward. More people are aware of the energy that their buildings are consuming, and now we have the resources and technology to make improvements to the consumption of energy. We currently have key personal and team engineers that are LEED accredited in their genre of practice, and in addition, we strive to offer LEED services and remain educated on the latest changes and what's important towards a responsible design and energy efficiency. Please ask us about these options.

Designs that are well thought out, and have true constructibility is extremely important to any project. Our architects have experience in construction and have an ability to think about the actual construction of our details. We do our best to work with the client to produce drawings that are legible and detailed enough to be clearly articulated.

This is the time where the design team, contractor, and client come together as a team. Construction administration is about asking the right questions at the right time with planning. Our architects strive to be accessible to the client and contractor throughout the process of construction and stay on top of the paper trail to keep things moving along.
